President trump letter 6
Mr. President Trump,
Workers’ compensation laws were created to protect injured workers. Today, they are being used by large corporations to avoid accountability.
Injuries go unreported. Medical treatment is delayed or denied. Disability accommodations are ignored. And workers are told workers’ comp is their “only remedy.”
There is no jury. Little discovery. And almost no meaningful punishment for corporations that break the law.
For workers who don’t know better, this becomes a well-hidden trap. By the time they realize what has happened, their health is damaged and their rights are gone.
This system survives because penalties are weak. Fines for failing to report injuries, denying treatment, or ignoring disability compliance are treated as a cost of doing business. That must change.
Real reform means real consequences.
Big fines. Mandatory reporting. Automatic penalties. Accountability for repeat offenders.
Corporations like The Hershey Company should never be allowed to injure American workers and quietly pass the cost onto families, taxpayers, and the healthcare system.

If this is the Golden Age of America, then working people must be protected too.
