President trump letter 7

Mr. President Trump,

You promised to fight corruption.
Here is what corruption looks like for American workers.

Across America, this is happening every single day.

Workers get hurt.
Companies violate federal safety laws.
They deny disability accommodations.
They refuse to file mandatory injury reports.
They withhold medical treatment.
They force injured employees to continue doing the same work that caused the injury in the first place — even when it worsens the damage.

Then workers’ compensation laws step in — not to help the worker, but to protect the company from accountability.

No jury gets to hear what happened.
No discovery reveals the evidence.
The company pays a small fine at most.
The worker is left with permanent injuries and no real recourse.

This isn’t a broken system.
It’s a system working exactly as designed.

Workers’ compensation laws allow corporations to walk away.

That’s not worker protection.
That’s corporate immunity.

Companies hide behind workers’ comp.
Families pay the price.

In my case, The Hershey Company violated:
• Federal disability law (ADA)
• Federal wage law (FLSA)
• Federal safety law (OSHA)

And workers’ compensation laws allowed them to escape accountability.

You said you would drain the swamp.

Workers’ compensation laws that let corporations violate federal law without facing juries or meaningful penalties — that’s the swamp.

American workers don’t need more promises.
We need action.

Reform workers’ compensation laws so that when companies violate federal law, workers can hold them accountable in court.

That’s draining the swamp.
